My Thoughts..

This is one of the best novels I have read this year.. Let me tell you all that I got hooked from the beginning and spent the better part of the night up reading this. And it was worth the loss of sleep.

Marjorie M. Liu definitely knows how to write angst and know her way to make readers feel so much for her characters. Not your typical prince charming or poor Cinderella tale and yet it is so much more.  Eddie and Lyssa are two damaged souls who manage to find each and work towards to something better for not only themselves but all those around them.

Sure there are a few characters who are still wary of Lyssa but she certainly has someone to be there for her. Of course.. who doesn't love a happy ending. :)

One of my favorite quotes are:

He hurts, whispered the dragon. Like you, his heart has nowhere to fall.

You could fall together.  * page 110 *

Memorable supporting characters:

Lil Jimmy and Lyssa's dragon. I truly love these two unique characters who are what make me care so much more for Lyssa..

I rate Within The Flames (A Dirk & Steele #11) a 4 star rating.
